My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were tired and in need of renovation, but they were large and comfortable with a good-sized bathroom. The service was a bit lacking in enthusiasm at check-in, but the staff was friendly and very helpful during our stay. The location was fantastic, right across from the extraordinary Nijo Castle and with a helpful shuttle bus to Kyoto station every 15 minutes. The dining options were good, but a bit pricey for what was offered. Overall, a decent value for the money.
